FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

What size skip do I need?

The right skip size depends on the type and amount of waste you need to dispose of. Smaller 2 yard skips are ideal for light household waste and small clearances, while 4 yard skips are suitable for medium-sized jobs such as home improvements. Larger 8 yard skips are better suited to bigger projects and commercial waste. If you are unsure which skip is best for your needs, our team can help you choose the right option. You can also view our skip sizes guide for more information.

What can I put in my skip?

Most general waste can be placed in our skips, including household items, garden waste and construction materials. However, certain items are not permitted such as asbestos, tyres, fridges/freezers, gas bottles and other hazardous materials. If you’re unsure, contact our team before booking your skip in Bradford or surrounding areas. For further info see Our Skips page

How long can I keep my skip?

Our standard skip hire period is 7 days from the date of delivery. If you need the skip for longer, we can usually extend the hire period for a small additional charge. Please let us know when booking your skip so we can arrange this.

How is my skip delivered and removed?

Your skip will be delivered by one of our vehicles at the agreed time. Unless a specific collection date is arranged, we will collect the skip after 7 days. We aim to provide reliable delivery and collection across Bradford and West Yorkshire.

Where can my skip be placed?

Your skip can be placed on private land such as a driveway, provided there is enough access space. If the skip needs to be placed on a public road or verge in Bradford or surrounding areas, a permit will be required. We can help arrange this as part of your booking.

What does the cost of my skip include?

The cost of skip hire includes delivery, collection and disposal of waste. If a permit is required for placement on a public road, we can arrange this through the relevant local authority for an additional charge. Get a skip hire quote

Do I need a skip permit in Bradford?

If your skip is placed on a public road or pavement in Bradford, a permit is usually required from the local council. If the skip is placed on private land such as a driveway, a permit is not needed. We can arrange any required permits on your behalf as part of your skip hire in Bradford booking, making the process simple and hassle-free.

What type of access does the delivery wagon need?

Our delivery vehicles require approximately 3 metres of width to safely place a skip. Please ensure there is sufficient access to your property before booking.

Is the skip safe on my property?

Our skips are safe when used correctly. Responsibility for the skip remains with the person hiring it during the hire period. If you have any concerns, our team can advise you before delivery.
